Dear IMLA Immigration Working Group:

I am passing along a news article about the federal government's issuance of subpoenas to three hotels in NYC related to the housing of migrants.  This is related to a DOJ investigation per media reports.  Here is a link from the NY Times that has obtained a copy of the subpoena apparently: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/12/nyregion/migrant-shelters-new-york-federal-probe.html?unlocked_article_code=1.3k4.nnZ9.WyIQHx1SdOWe&smid=url-share.  Per the article: "The subpoena requested testimony and evidence from the hotel related to 'an alleged violation' of federal immigration law. It asked the hotel for the names of entities and individuals responsible for the 'funding and management of the illegal immigrant/migrant shelter program,' as well as any contracts or agreements related to it."

Thanks,
Amanda
