Backyard drama in East Hartford! You know how I was complaining about my bumper crop of squirrels a couple of weeks ago? Local pest control has arrived in the form of a Red Fox. I had watched him take an unsuccessful run at the Mourning Doves last week. This morning I watched him catch a hapless squirrel who had been browsing under a feeder in my yard. He tossed it around a few times. Probably broke the squirrel's neck. Then he carried it off into the woods for a late breakfast. This bit of violence cleared the yard of squirrels and birds! Wow.
