I have a fuel tank that developed a leak [not sure if
steel or stainless].
Access is bad - from the top inspection plate only -
so I'm not even sure where it is leaking from - but
assume it is near the bottom.
What material can I use to plug it ?
Is epoxy OK for diesel fuel ?
Any 'miracle stuff' on the market today ?

If you knew where the leak was, if you had good access, and if you could
completely clean the area to be patch, the tanks could be repaired with
epoxy and glass cloth.
I did not find any "miracle stuff" on the market that convinced me that they
could provide satisfactory results. Charles Cullota has a good write-up on
his website covering his fix for leaking tanks.

I faced the same situation last fall and ended up replacing all four tanks
with new aluminum tanks. I can now sleep well knowing the fuel is in the
tanks rather than the bilge.
