Subject: 2024 Call for Scholarship Applications -Research Data Access and Preservation Association (RDAP)
Dear colleagues,
Through a joint effort of the RDAP Sponsorship and Membership Action Committees, a limited number of scholarships are available to cover registration for the a
If you are interested in receiving a scholarship, please submit your application by Friday, January 5, 2024 through the online scholarship application form. The application will include a personal statement no longer than 250 words describing a bit about yourself and how attending the Summit will inform your scholarship or practice.
In alignment with RDAP’s values, we want to ensure that available scholarships are supporting a diverse array of identities that includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, ability, role or specialty, disciplinary approach, or research environment.
Scholarship applications are open to all, but preference will be given to:
Current students (undergraduate or graduate)
Early career professionals (3 years or less) currently working or interested in research data management and preservation/archiving
Individuals from historically marginalized and underrepresented groups
First-time RDAP Summit attendees
Individuals who provide a clear and complete description of how attending the RDAP Summit will inform their scholarship or practice
All applicants will be notified of their status no later than Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend the 2024 Summit and compose a blog post about their conference experience to be posted on the RDAP website (see blogs from past years). Scholarship recipients are also strongly encouraged to write up their RDAP conference experience as a commentary for the JeSLIB (Journal of eScience Librarianship) RDAP 2024 Special Issue.
Scholarship recipients may be invited to attend a workshop at the Summit, if space is available. Workshop registration tends to fill up quickly, so applicants who are interested in attending a workshop may need to go ahead and register for the workshop to reserve their spot, and may be reimbursed for workshop registration if selected to receive a scholarship.
For questions, contact membership@rdapassociation.org. If your organization is interested in sponsoring RDAP scholarships, please contact sponsorship@rdapassociation.org.
Warm regards,
