A story from Rags to Trawler Riches .
Many years ago Mavis and i were avid ocean sail boat racers they
were the Rag days.
To day that has all changes to Trawler Riches meaning we now have
enriched our selves with a slightly used great Mainship 400 trawler.
I wanted to tell you all at the same time of our new arrival and
certainly those with whom i have corresponded with over the T&T for
many years like Rudy and Jill and many others and my good friend
Marin who owns a bucket full of wisdom.
It is all good.
Now who wants our Mainship pilot 30 /11 all looking pretty in Ely's
Harbor Bermuda and why is that boat so pretty, it is because of all of
you who have contributed , hey guys thank you.
The birds don't poop on the deck any more, you all remember that
from me i said feed them over there and they fly over there.
Now with the Mainship 400 i have to re learn every thing over
again and i look to you foryour guidance and how to tell the bell from
the whistles.
Mavis is busy cannibalizing our house for pots and pans, she
snatched the rug out of her kitchen she has not got the hair dryer
yet and i dint have to tell you where it is all going, things are
flying out of here like a jet liner/ bullet train
Go for it Mavis !
Now you all know that Donald and Mavis have a Mainship 400 its a
practical trawler and trawlerling for the enjoyment of boating, the
400 it is what we can manage in more ways than one.
We don't own the Bank or want to.
We all dream of owning the "Queen Mary" as the pie in the sky or is
reality a Mainship with a wife of 53 years who just loves boats, any
more than that is just to much .
We are wet sailors each with over 5 ocean crossings in small boats.
Tell me ! is the dream that comes true when you sit on the Quarter
deck to listen to the music of the sea..
water is not wet until you fall in it...... me
