We first saw a Kinglet on 10/9, a new yard bird in our backyard sanctuary.
A second one appeared on 10/10, and both have been picking at our hanging flower baskets and tomato plants. Will they stay through the winter, or are they just passing through?

Mike and Sue,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets are migrating south now, to wintering areas in the southern US states and Mexico. A few will still be able to be found in CT in winter, sometimes at feeders, such as during the annual Christmas Bird Counts (held mid-Dec to early Jan).
