1/7, Lot W, UConn, Storrs: The imm northern shrike continues and was seen by several people during the morning. It has been in the trees by the pond at the NW corner of the lot. At one point we hear it sing a little.
Also, just to let people know the pine grosbeaks have not been seen on campus for a while. There's still a lot of fruit around, but many trees have been stripped so its worth seeking out those that still have berries.

Stopped down at Hammo this morning to try and get more crossbill photos.
There were a few birds in the pines (more big lenses than birds!) at West
Beach, as well as Red-breasted Nuthatches. Mid-morning, I found a 2nd
winter Lesser Black-backed Gull loafing with the gulls in the West Beach
parking area.
