I guess it depends on how much bread you use. I keep the loaf in use in a Tupperware container, another loaf in the freezer. It's one of those provisioning things... most of the time you're cruising where there are people, and wherever there are people, there's food. Most people WAY overstock the galley at first, then learn to trim it down.

Hey, I love breadmakers, but don't have room for one in my Krogen 42. When you think about how big they are, only used on 110V for 3-4 hours at a time and that you have to carry flour, yeast, etc. that the bugs can get into pretty easily, it doesn't look to practical to me, but to each his own. By the way, here is a recipe to bake bread in that pressure cooker (multi tasker!):

4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 envelopes of dry yeast

Dissolve yeast, sugar and salt in warm water. Add flour one cup at a time. When all flower is in start kneading with your hands until dough is elastic and no longer sticks to your hands. Cover bowl with towel and put in warm place for one hour.  Dough should double in size. Punch down. Grease pressure cooker with solid shorting. Coat pot with corn meal (this acts as an insulating barrier so the bread cooks evenly).

Place dough in cooker, rise again (about 45 min), place lid on pressure cooker LEAVE OFF STEAM VALVE/DO NOT PRESSURIZE... Cook over low flame for 40 minutes. Use Flame Tamer so it doesn't burn then check sides and bottom for brownness. Top will not brown but you can flip the bread over and bake another 15-20 min. Have fun with this one. A Flame tamer is very important. We also use Pizza mix and bake pizza in a covered fry pan using VERY low flame and a flame tamer.
