Was there a thread some time ago about roaches, and what repels

them?

I've heard that boric acid works well.

Finely powdered Boric acid spread near places where roaches walk
worked for me in house and boat - simple and effective. Roaches are
very fastidious and don't like white powder on their little legs. So
they lick it off. Boric acid powder and roaches stomach contents do
not agree with each other and the poor little creatures acually
EXPLODE

Well, ah thought it was a wonderful story... and he told it so well... and
with such enthusiasm...  ;-)

Mel, just in case you're wondering: The research was done at a
southern university (probably California) some 20 years ago and I
remember it so well as at that time I had a serious investation in my
appartment and got rid of the critters on my first try .Gg

P.s: the Boric Acid powder is sold here at hardware stores in a kinda
squeeze bottle as" Roach Killer". The fine print on the label
identifies it as 99% Boric acid.
