This September we will leave the Chicago area in the  "Sea Spirit"  [ a 32'  Island Gypsy  Trawler ]  making our way to Mobile by November.

We are looking for advise & suggestions:

1  Where best to leave the boat in the Mobile area.?

2  would it be better to continue on to the Pensacola / Pan. City area ?

3  We prefer inside or covered storage but are open to all suggestions since they may do things different in the warmer climate.

4  should we consider keeping the trawler in the water for approx.  3/4 months ?

We are planning to return late March / April to sail the Florida coasts, etc.

Thanking you all in advance

Aye

The very best is to leave the Boat in fresh water before you get to Mobile.
You have many options but I suggest two. Besides the many nice marinas you
will pass on the Tennessee's, there is Aqua Harbor at the top of the
Tenn/Tom in Yellow Bluff Creek, or Columbus Marina on the Tenn/Tom.  Both
are nice marinas in fresh water in very protected basins with cover slips
available.  Take your time in the Tennessee Rivers, they are second (and
some ways top) only to the North Channel in beautiful cruising.  We should
be finished with our Ohio Rivers Cruise and back down to the Ten/Tom by Nov.
Give a shout if you see us.

Joe

We are still docked in Pittsburgh doing tourist things but moved from the
Allegheny to the Monongahela River to Station Square.  We plan to cruise to
Morgantown, WV next week.
