Surveyor Recommendations

Bob,

I used these two surveyors for an Eastbay 38 I wanted to buy, and I'm
convinced you'll never find better yacht surveyors in South Florida.
They're so good that getting on their schedules is often tough, but they
are well worth the wait.  Not inexpensive either but well worth the money!

Hull surveyor:
Jonathan "Jon" Howe
mobile: 954-557-7563
office: 954-584-5819
nautserv@aol.com

Caterpillar engine surveyor:
Tim Caruso
Marine Diesel  Analysts Inc.
mobile: 772-285-6770
timcat10@gmail.com or
tim@catenginesurveyor.com
www.catenginesurveyor.com

Jon is has been a full-time marine surveyor for more than 25 years.  He has
vast experience with yachts of all kinds and he's extremely thorough, finds
all faults that are findable without destructive testing, and he's very
good about explaining issues to both buyer and seller--he does so in a
calm, deliberate and cooperative manner.

Based on Tim's engine survey findings, I turned the boat down.  He saved me
many nightmares!  He was one of the designers of the Cat 3208 years ago
when he worked for Caterpillar, but he's been on his own at a Cat specialty
surveyor for many years.

I've used many surveyors over the years but none better.  Both Jon and Tim
were an absolute pleasure to work with!

We are considering purchasing a 64' vessel in Vero Beach. We would
appreciate recommendations for good general surveyors and CAT engine
surveyors in or near the area.
