I recently removed the electric get home system from my Willard 40. The 5 hp electric motor was suitable only in a calm, the common fuel supply and driveline didn't make sense, and the ONAN MDJE was problematic enough without adding underloading to its list of complaints. I think twins would be better. If one fails, the other can get you close enough to the dock (twins with one engine diasbled are difficult to handle in close quarters).
