The white hose with the blue stripe down it available at any big box store is FDA approved for potable water use. They are not expensive. The white hose does not leave any marks on deck. A cover will cost you way more that any hose and is a hassle to work with, with a cover on it. I.E. west marine sells a cover for a 30 amp and 50 amp power cord. The covers come in 25 ft lengths at $50. ea x 2 to cover a 50 ft cord. Wife made one for the power cord with our Sailrite sewing machine. .
