Your driver is really old. 5-6 years or so, and googling it indicates that they’re causing problems.
Toshiba probably stopped supporting this laptop, so your best shot would be to manually install from Intel.
Did you try looking at this? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24593

Thanx, I followed the link, used the installer:
1st time thru "hardware not supported"
returned "try re-install?" So I did.
2nd time thru "software version not supported"

Intel site sent me to Toshiba earlier, so
I didn't expect to find drivers there.

Thank you for your help, Marius.

Ouch,

I guess you need to manually hunt down the correct version.
At least this thread will serve as good hardware buying advice for future generations :)

I tried googling for: blender ig4icd64.dll
and I found this:
https://developer.blender.org/T31423

There are some suggestions at the bottom, about installing an alternate
version of opengl32.dll and changing Window Draw Method in User Preferences
-> System.

The new location for the alternate opengl library is
http://download.blender.org/ftp/sergey/softwaregl/

I have no idea if this will fix your OpenSCAD problem, but I'm mentioning
it in case it helps.

I tried the option thru Blender dev. site, it was for i5 processor, mine is
i3.

Thank you for your suggestion, Doug.

So it seems my puter was fine until last week, scad ver 2015.02.15 worked
flawlessly.
I guess I got lucky, just before my equip. self-obsoleted.

I'll try a rollback, (hate reverting), and if it fails I'll fire up the Asus
my Mom left me.

Thanx again, Gentlemen!

I tried rollback, crappy graphics, so I re-updated driver & set it aside for
my daughter.

So I lit up Mom's notebook, and 4hrs. of updates, etc. later I'm off to the
races. I already altered the model's port dims, and added scaling to
individual modules and exported an .stl file to print.

Maybe after I develop this machine I'll revisit the driver problem, with a
fresh perspective.

Thanks to Marius, Doug, et al for your patience with a dinosaur, and my old
equipment.

Would anyone be offended if I were to delete this thread?????

I'll just send it to Hillary's email server,

no one will find it until it doesn't make a difference anymore.

hi,

first, Marius, thanks for your response to my 2015.03 email.

next, i'm trying to generate a prototype heat sink, which has a circular
form factor.  i've unioned the fins onto the back of the sink, but i'm
having issues trying to lop off the portion of the fins that protrude
from the circle.  (please see attached .png)

i've tried recreating the circle and difference-ing it with the unioned
mass, but that either does nothing, or causes more problems (which one
depends upon the height of the circle).

i could generate the fins using trig, so that they're the correct
length, but the edges are then square, which looks stinko.

if anyone has any ideas, i'm all ears.  8^)

tia all!

Intersecting the fins with a cylinder should clip them correctly.

You could also subtract the gaps between the fins from a cylinder with
difference and the fins would be left.
