Mary & I trotted over to see the Waite St. bridge Osprey nest, & also saw a Green Heron. B. Oriole in its nest. Tree, Barn, & No. Rough-winged Swallows, too, & other usual suspects.

Waite bridge & causeway Lake Whitney, New Haven, US-CT

Protocol: Incidental
Comments: With Mary Porterfield, a short walk to see the osprey nest.
4 species
Green Heron 1 Flying N.W. over Waite St., then west over the peninsula
Osprey 2 One sitting in nest on platform N. of Waite St. bridge. Another flew by, without food, & was not welcomed by bird on nest. (We imagined of course a wife complaining that the husband forgot the groceries again -- but that's just a story.) When we left, 2nd O. (or another) was atop a tree to S. of Waite, 100-200 yards away.
Eastern Kingbird 2 Around Waite St. bridge.
Baltimore Oriole 3 One in nest in elm on N. side of Waite St. bridge. Other two were on North Lake property, one signing, the other chasing him away a bit.
