Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me out with getting ahold of the software for
an agilent 58503a. I am trying to get the interface software to verify the
lock with the signal. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you,

Hi

I believe that if you do find the HP software, it will only run on some odd combination of old OS and (maybe) old hardware.

Since all the internals are accessible via SCPI commands, a terminal program hooked to the serial port and a bit of typing will show you what I believe you are looking for.

The details of all the commands are in here:

https://xdevs.com/doc/HP_Agilent_Keysight/HP 58503A, 59551A Operating & Programming & Supplemental Note & Guide.pdf https://xdevs.com/doc/HP_Agilent_Keysight/HP%2058503A,%2059551A%20Operating%20&%20Programming%20&%20Supplemental%20Note%20&%20Guide.pdf

On page 3-3 it suggests that simply typing:

:SYSTEM:STATUS?

Will get you the info you are looking for. A quick read of the manual suggests that the HP software simply sends that string over and over again. Yes, it was a quick read and I could easily have missed something.
