To My Trawler Listees...
Even tho' Mae & I never got our Trawler... [yet], we did learn a great many useful things that were applicable to our 1948 18' Lyman Islander side steer, named "Miss Maezie" .
We enjoyed the great fact-sharing and humor from people who really enjoyed "messing about in boats".
We will miss you all.
Forever Grateful to Georgs & Bob for keeping this group afloat.
Respectfully, Steve & Mae
Merry Christmas and many Happy Years to Come.

Ahoy, all!
All good things must come to an end, says the proverb, and so must T&T List.
When we launched 24 years ago—way back in 1997!—it was the only online resources for folks interested in cruising, passagemaking and living aboard under power. We like to think that all forums that followed were mere copycats.
At one point, the main T&T list had more than 2,000 subscribers, with sister lists having as many as 1,000 each. Today, the main T&T List still has 1,447 subscribers, with Trawlers Buy-Sell-Trade at 1,542 and Great Loop at 916.
But, for a whole bunch of reasons, traffic started slowing in recent times, and now has completely died without a single post in a long time.
Thus, I’ll be shutting down the three remaining lists at month’s end.
My huge thanks to Bob McLeran who has served as List Administrator since almost the beginning, 2004 to be exact. The countless hours he has volunteered are just that, countless—and way beyond the call of duty. Much thanks also to Alex, Kevin, Steven and others who volunteered on the Admin Help Team.
My great thanks also to Listees who answered the periodic call for financial contributions to help cover operating costs.
I will miss all of you.
Stay safe!

Dear Georges & Bob,
Thanks for all you did. I joined the list while still dreaming of buying my Krogen. It led to 20 years & 25,000 miles of cruising adventure. Still enjoying my lobster boat in Maine.
All the best,
Craig

Georgs,
We all owe you a debt of gratitude for your birthing and sustaining this wonderful list for the last 23+ years. Certainly a big “thanks” to Bob for his monitoring. Many of our lives and boating careers have been enriched by the information shared and the friendships started here. There are also the early years of Trawler Fest, and those of us who presented and became friends with the other presenters.
Those of us who have come to know Georgs and his dedication to various aspects of boating, including owning a C Dory appreciate his dedication. Thanks!
I am now 85 and it became apparent that this was finally the time to give up most of our boating. We are keeping an 18 foot Caracal Catamaran Center Console and a 9’ fatty knees Dinghy. I started skippering in races my dad’s 26’ sailboat when I was 13. (I won the first race and the series I first skippered when my dad was traveling. That lead to a sailing career of over 40 years and over 200,000 miles.)
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Bob Austin
