I've created a short video demonstrating the DMTD in standalone mode,
useful for tuning oscillators against a referece
https://youtu.be/1LOxep-1ai0
Apologies for the rather low sound level.
Erik.

Hi Erik
Pretty informative video
Could averaging be implement sweep by sweep ?
Kind regards
Kurt

Hi

Is the intent to turn this into a product? I’m guessing that’s the idea.
If so:

  1. Displaying in scientific notation ( parts in 10^-12 / ppb / ppt ) would be
a useful option for the frequency difference.

  2. Adjusting the Tau / gate time would be nice, but not essential.

  3. Dumping phase samples to something ( card / USB / ….) so that things like
ADEV could be calculated would be a plus.

With ground loops an ever present gotcha, just how you get the data out is
not a trivial part of all this.

I'm implementing scrolling traces that act as running averages starting at
2 points op to maximum 400 points so with a 1 second Tau you can average
over maximum 400 measurements
