There Is always a another way.
In 1776 there were no alternatives Vinegar was King.
Store bought White Vinegar contains Acetic Acid and mixed 50% - 50%
with water in a new Clean Spray Bottle , the fine spray can work
wonders for cleaning, but should be used sparingly ,also used in
conjunction with a new clean sponge which you may have to rinse out
from time to time or use with disposable paper towel you can wipe over
most surfaces which have been contaminated with mold, the Vinegar will
kill the mould and may prevent further contamination and leaves a
nice shine behind especially on glass.
Got smelly mildew towels pre wash a load full cycle only using a cup
and a half of White Vinegar in your machine first, then re wash again
with your favorite laundry detergent on hot cycle.
100% Straight White Vinegar will restore stainless steel railings
provided they are not to far gone.

I have also used a diluted mixture (10:1) of Lysol liquid sprayed on
walls and cabinets and leather / leatherette furniture to get rid of
mild and mildew. I wipe it down with a micro-fiber cloth that I rise
frequently.
I use a cap full in the washer if I need to clean washable fabrics.
(Cold water and gentle cycle)
But in the shower, either bleach full strength from a spray bottle or
the Lysol spray.
Over here white vinegar is not available but acetic acid (99%) is so
I make my own "white vinegar (30:1 ratio).
