Hi Folks:
I just wanted to commiserate with all of you in the area of potential
landfall with Floyd. Most of us here on the Pacific Coast never have to
even think too much about preparing for such an event. As I watched the
National news on TV last night my heart went out to you all and your
beautiful boats.
Debbie and I wish you all the best of luck. Please share your experiences
with us, good or bad.

Yes Floyd is coming and it is bad. We are getting ready. My biggest concern
is the 12' - 15' storm surge on top of the tide. There is no way any of the
boats here have enough line to handle that - including my own. However, it
is well back up in a canal that is as good as any place on the island. But
with a #4 or #5 hurricane I don't think it much matters. That's why we have
insurance - right? Will give you all a run down when email is once again
established in Nassau, but don't hold your breath for that. And before then,
Floyd will be raking the entire eastern coat of the US with 150mph winds.
Good luck to you all.
Best Regards,
Maurice Marwood

To all who responded - thanks. The ratio so far was about 60% varnish and
40% paint. We will leave it varnish.
