FYI List,

I received an e-mail notice from West Marine this morning announcing a sale on
the Garmin Colorado 400c GPS on sale for 1/2 price. Regular price at $600.00
but on sale for $300.00 for 4 days only. I just came back from the local WM
store, and bought one. Any one looking at one of these puppies may want to go
up on WM web site & get one.

Just a heads up, I have no connections to WM except to get a good deal.

There appears to be a wide spread sale on these units. Check google for
the model, at least one other is about 300.

Keep in mind that Jeff Siegel's ActiveCaptain creates a Colorado 400 for
$20...on a Palm and Windoze Mobile PDA....do need a $35 hockey puck GPS to
hook up by Bluetooth. And, you can bring up all ActiveCaptain's cruising
features...VERY cool!

Newest iPhone with GPS included only needs $50 software by iNavX, the
GPSNavX folks.

Just a satisfied customer saving a lot of bucks...

Be aware that the 300 does not have maps built in. The 400c has coastal maps
for the US and
the Bahamas included. That's what makes this a good deal. West still has these
on sale but
some stores are out.>
