Revised 10/04 Notable Sightings from White Memorial

10/04 - Litchfield, White Hall Rd. (White Memorial's Museum North Lawn &
Driveway) - 1 CLAY-COLORED SPARROW mixed in with 50 Chipping Sparrows, 7
Dark-eyed Juncos, 60 Yellow-rumped Warblers, & 19 Eastern Bluebirds; most of
which were feeding on a hatch of flying ants. Also, 2 Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers & 2 Blue-headed Vireos in the surrounding trees, 4 Broad-winged
Hawks circling overhead, and 22 Purple Finches at the feeders and/or flying
overhead.

(Ongley & Activity Fields) - 6 Northern Flickers, 2 Red-breasted
Nuthatches, 2 Carolina Wrens, 10 Eastern Bluebirds, 42 Yellow-rumped
Warblers, 4 Palm Warblers, 10 Pine Warblers

Pond) - 1 immature Little Blue Heron, 1 Wood Duck, 8 Blue-winged Teal, 6
Green-winged Teal, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, 6 Solitary Sandpipers, 1 Wilson's
Snipe, 215 American Robins, 65 White-throated Sparrows

phase Rough-legged Hawk soaring overhead, heading southwest, at 2 p.m.
