Howard

Attached GIf file depicts the recommended power supply filtering when
the oven circuit shares the same supply as the oscillator.

Bruce (or anyone really)...

I was comparing that schematic for the 10544A with the schematic in the
10811 manual. The 10811 has no mention of the inductor/cap combo, so I'm
guessing it is not needed when using a single power source?

True, the 10811 does not have a switching regulator for the oven circuitry.

Subject line sez all. Picked this up recently with some other GPS
related stuff.
Google hasn't been my friend on this-at least so far!

I've taken the top cover off the metal box and its sitting on the
scanner next to the exposed top of the pcb.

I got the same from eBay. It's a Magellan - Ashtech G8, info at

I have not turned on mine yet...
