Hammonassett state park in Madison. Enter the main entrance go to the rotary and take your first right go to the end of that main area and find an area to park and walk north back towards the campground and it’s been in that line of pine trees near the little playground there or to the brush off to the side. If you go to the website for him an ass at state park you will see a map. Good luck Gerry

Hi William,

When you enter Hammonasset State Park, make your first right past the toll
booths, and park in the campground parking lot.  Then walk toward the beach
on the main road, which is blocked by sawhorses, about 700 feet, until you
come to the playground area.

The bird has been hanging around in, on or in front of the bushes along the
west edge of the playground, but has been found on the other side of the
small marsh to the west, or among the line cedars to the east of the
playground along the campground roads.

I dropped a pin on the playground and it translates to: 41.268393,
-72.561287.  The line of cedars where it has been seen most often is:
41.267437, -72.561025, but the area north and east of that spot has also
yielded sightings.

It sounds worse than it is; if you stay in the area within probably 500 feet
of the playground and check the Junco and Sparrow flocks, you will probably
find the bird.

Good luck!
