Yesterday (10/31) on the boat ride back to Turkey Point from near the tip of Long Point, on Lake Erie (Gravely Bay specifically), I (along with M.Bradstreet, T.Bradstreet and Brett Norman of NCC), spotted: 2* Little Gulls* (in Gravely Bay and Bluff bar respectively) 3* Forster's Terns* (flying out over the Bay, perched on a sign post and buoy) 3 *Brant* (on Bluff Bar with CANG) 13 *Bald Eagles* were on or near Bluff Bar. In the 5 days I was out on the point (supposed to be 3, but for Sandy!) other hi-lights were 2* Palm Warblers*, and a *Savanna Sparrow*, and an absolute ton of waterfowl moving in the high winds. The feeders at the Nature Conservancy of Canada Research cottage had at one time, 75 Pine Siskens, 8 Purple Finch, 3 Fox Sparrow, FISP, CHSP, WTSP, RBWO and more. American Woodcock were flushed on any walk longer than 100m, with 5 at one time on the 29th. 2 Wilson's Snipe were seen on the 30th over the cabin. directions: Long Point is located in Norfolk County, near the town of Port Rowan. Stick to shore though.... :) No access to this area unless you have a boat, and know where all the sand bars are, have permission, and a place to stay! cheers, Lucas Foerster
