As I get PUP in digest form, I snuck into the archives file to see Ron's
reply/rebuke.
Yes I called Ron a "Dickhead" in a post sent at 16.42 pm AUS EST after
his Manolo Blanich comment, but after getting another explanatory e-mail
from him at AUS 19.57 EST, I was more conciliatory and friendly due to
its explanation content. So this is how it happened, timing differences,
so please Ron accept my apology for shooting from the hip 3 hours
earlier.
Georgs runs a tight ship I agree, so the next dickhead that writes
drivel will be referred now to as a Richard Cranium from me,
particularly if it is about hurting someone, or something, unfairly.
In the recent archival postings I saw a comment about solid dinghy's v's
inflatable's.
I have just come from croc territory and went fishing every night with
my 12' inflatable after anchoring. I asked myself every night on
deploying, why I didn't have a rigid dinghy instead.
If I had my time over again I would order a high freeboard aluminium or
composite dinghy with inflatable gunwales to save any banging against
the davit, railings, or hull.
I would also have a model with a casting platform at the bow and stern,
and a foldable bimini to keep out the sun. I would also have an electric
motor for trolling, auxiliary to the main power plant, which should be
40 hp at least. Apart from a depth sounder, I would have a chartplotter,
and built in VHF. If you're not into fishing in remote areas this is not
so important of course.
On the other hand this will be some mother to get up on a beach, so I
will have to get a good system for anchoring it safely and conveniently.
Where I have just come from over the past two months has the second
highest tidal ranges in the world after Nova Scotia (30') Also I would
get a buddy to do the retrieving in croc territory.
Cheers to everyone
Peter
Peter,
We are having a LOT of fun with your posts. Keep them up and keep up
