Restricting Permissions by Collection

Good morning,

Here at Plimoth we rely on a mix of staff, interns, and volunteers to input
and edit data in our CSpace instance. One of our more pressing concerns is
focused permissions restrictions. For example, we use our CSpace instance
for three (3) distinct collections; however, we only want our volunteers to
be able to read and write in one of these collections. Is there a way for
us to restrict our 'Volunteer' users' permissions to this one collection?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers,
Jon

Jonathan,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, at the moment we can't restrict permissions by collection, only by record type (e.g. all loans, all cataloging, etc.) I don't see an open feature request for this in our issue tracker; you may wish to create one so that as we look ahead on the program roadmap, this request will be evaluated with other role and permission updates (http://issues.collectionspace.org).

If any community members have developed a workaround for this issue, please let Jonathan know.

Best regards,

Megan
