We are pleased to share that CollectionSpace has welcomed a new Program Manager to the team - Jessi Weithman! Jessi joined the program team in August and brings a broad depth of knowledge and experience in the use of collections management systems in both museums and public libraries. If you recognize Jessi’s name, it’s because she served as the Museum and Library Catalog Manager at the Ohio History Connection where she was responsible for implementing their museum, archives and library collection management catalogs including CollectionSpace, Mukurtu and ArchivesSpace. Her previous positions include Associate Director of Support Services for the Westerville Public Library and the Information Technology Manager for the Columbus Metropolitan Library. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to an exciting year ahead. [Image of Megan Forbes] Farewell to Megan Forbes With Jessi’s welcome, we must also say a big thank you and farewell to Megan Forbes, former Program Manager of CollectionSpace. Megan has been the foundation of the CollectionSpace community and has devoted her 15 years to developing the platform that CSpace is today. She was instrumental in the initial creation of CollectionSpace beginning with her work at the Museum of the Moving Image in 2007 and has been with the program at LYRASIS since 2014. We appreciate Megan’s myriad contributions, but we will especially miss her creativity and insight, her commitment to open source, and her dedication to growing and enhancing CollectionSpace to better serve the museum community. Jessi and Linda were there to discuss best practices in data management, the use of authority control within data sets and CSpace, and future and current trends in museum collection management systems.
