From Meredith Sampson:

10/27 - Old Greenwich, Innis Arden Golf Course -- 2 YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS.

No, I don't play golf (tho wish I could), but enjoy dawn walks around the local course,
which can be quite birdy at times, and I don't mean the birdies in the game.
There's been a fairly regular flock of about 300 Common Grackles in the last
few days.
First Hooded Mergansers (2) of the fall were at Greenwich Point on Friday, which
has been very unbirdy compared with the very good sparrow variety and numbers
of previous weeks.  Too quiet!

Meredith
