03/29/14 - Stratford, Long Beach -- an Eared Grebe was swimming and
feeding with Goldeneye of the end of the first jetty south of the
parking lot until hunters in the marsh fired 3 quick shots which
spooked all the birds which flew farther off shore. I was unable to
relocate the grebe. There is also a Snowy Owl in the marsh.

03/29/14 - Stratford, Lordship Seawall and Long Beach Park -- 48
species, including highlights: EURASIAN WIGEON, Lesser Scaup, 2+
NORTHERN GANNETS, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, ICELAND GULL, LESSER BLACK-BACKED
GULL, and two SNOWY OWLS. There was also an earlier-reported EARED
GREBE seen by some in the group.
