Hello all, My name is Brandon Carr and I am an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Austin. I previously worked for the City of Fort Worth before coming to Austin a little over two years ago. I currently advise my city's Purchasing Department and Code Department. My interest in this list serve primarily stems from my code enforcement duties. Our major university is of course the University of Texas at Austin, which has over 50,000 students, but we also have several other smaller institutions located in the city. Some of the issues we deal with here in Austin include hiring the university to conduct studies (procurement), the city's use of the university's property (leases), student property usage in neighborhoods (over occupancy, noise, trash, etc.), and the relationship between city code/law enforcement and the university's code/law enforcement.
