Wood Storks in August

A pair of wood storks was seen and photographed at Haddam Neck Fairgrounds “last week” as published in the Haddam Killingworth news dated September 12. There is a photo in the newspaper.  Apparently the original article was dated 8/30 online, thus the birds were sighted the week before that.  The birds are likely gone from the area, but with the warm weather it is still a possibility.  Although the report was untimely late, it is noteworthy as this report was distinct from the others at that time.  It also serves as a reminder to keep an eye out for anything unusual as we bird during fall migration.

Good Birding!
