From Nick Bonomo:
07/31/14 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- Just driving in as an
AMERICAN AVOCET was flying over the rotary heading the west. Following
the bird in flight, it took a low circle over the Swan Pond but
decided against landing and continued west down the coast. The bird
was definitely interested in landing at the pond so perhaps won't go
too far down the coast before settling.

From Paul and Muareen Wolter:
07/31/14 - Guilford, Long Cove, Sachems Head Rd -- 7 PM; one American
Avocet (with several Yellowlegs), visible from the road.
7:30 PM -- Guilford, Shell Beach Rd marsh -- American Avocet.

From Ernie Harris:
07/31/14 - Bolton -- a Common Raven flying near Bolton Notch.

From Maria Stockmal:
07/31/14 - West Haven, Sandy Point -- Saltmarsh Sparrow,
Yellow-crowned Nigh-Heron.

From James Purcell:
07/31/14 - Fairfield, Penfield Reef -- a beautiful Royal Tern foraging
around the reef itself and occasionally resting on the jetty behind my
house, which is one jetty to the west of the reef (to your left if you
are looking out over the sound).
