Canadian non-tax paid boats

I live in Thailand and have applied for Canadian registry for my new Diesel
Duck. While the boat is registered in Canada it is non-tax and duty paid.

I intend to leave the boat in Canada for several months a year, and presume
this is the same as a US registered boat.
Is this the case?

I really do not want to pay tax and duty, or at least not until I can
depreciate it a lot. Will making a border run every 6 months satisfy the
authorities?
