Olalla welcomes Nina Gerber & Chris Webster for very special evening of music

The legendary duo will make a rare Northwest appearance Sunday, April 10

at the Olalla community hall

(OLALLA, Mar. 22, 2016) Legendary guitarist Nina Gerber and her sidekick Chris Webster will make a rare Northwest appearance Sunday, April 10 at the Olalla community hall. The evening starts with an all-invited potluck at 5pm, followed by music at 6pm.

Ever since she started accompanying the late, great Kate Wolf back in 1978, Gerber’s music has earned her accolades and a large and loyal fan base. Her guitar playing is unrivaled and she has a unique ability to immerse herself in any number of musical styles – from folk to country and bluegrass to rock to blues.

The concert is part of Olalla’s Mostly Monthly Music Series.

Series producer Nolan Pepperdine first heard Gerber play at a Kate Wolf concert in Sacramento in the earl 1980s. “Seeing Kate was such a special thing, but what really caught my attention was the guitarist accompanying her. It was Nina Gerber – and she was incredible,” Pepperdine said.

Chris Webster started her musical career as the teen-aged lead singer for the California band Mumbo Gumbo. She now has half-a dozen albums to her credit. Her voice can reach magical heights, then effortlessly make an about-face and deliver heart-rending ballads and torch songs. And she can be side-splittingly funny.

“I’m delighted that Nina and Chris will be gracing our Olalla stage. It’s going to be a very special, memorable evening, indeed,” Pepperdine said.

The final installment of this season’s Mostly Monthly Music Series will feature renowned singer/storyteller Ronny Cox on May 7.

The monthly concerts are presented by the Olalla Community Club, a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1937. Suggested donation is $15-20, but nobody is ever turned away, Pepperdine said.
