Hi LEE:This reminds me of a catastrophic Seiche that happened 10 years ago in Lake Ontario, Canada. The seiche was about 10 to 12 ft. Our marina at St. Catharines has floating docks. The seiche came poring in and raised all the docks over the poles. Much damage was done to the infrastructure like the fuel dock, etc. Fortunately it was mid spring and most boats were still on the hard with very few small fishing. boats in the water. I was told that the insurance companies were hard hit by this event but that is what insurance is for. I hope that those who suffered loss boats in this event were covered.
