Dear Reader,

The 44th issue of the 3rd Thursday Newsletter
https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/blog finds us at the cusp of
launching Voices
of Tacoma: A Gathering of Poets
https://shop.ingramspark.com/b/084?kJWWkdPWxGcQ9ze1JqJVrajKngZmhBxMf5ptPy8CbxZ.
In addition to our official Launch at the Library, on Saturday, October 12,
we also have a long list of events where you can come meet the poets and
hear them read!

First, though, we are also excited to announce the launch of the Voices of
Tacoma: A Podcast https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/voicesoftacomapodcast.
Produced by Phil Harty (who is a contributing poet to the anthology), the
podcast currently includes a selection of poets who are reading their work.
More podcasts will be coming soon!

Next week you will have an opportunity to check out Mauricio Robalino’s
artwork, including the piece used for the book cover, Voices, at The
Gallery at Tacoma Community College. The exhibit is on display from September
24 through October 25. Check the TCC Gallery
https://www.tacomacc.edu/tcc-life/arts-culture/the-art-gallery website
for hours and more details.

On Tuesday, September 24, in conjunction with the Tacoma Public Library’s
Freedom To Read Week, Christina Vega and I will be facilitating a workshop
entitled Banned Poetry & You
https://tacoma.bibliocommons.com/events/66a28a02df94f01b4a6e536b. We’ll
be looking at poetry through the ages and to the present that people don’t
want you to read.  Reader discretion is advised: the material we will be
covering may contain themes that some may find disturbing. We hope you
enjoy it!  Moore Library https://www.tacomalibrary.org/locations/4/

On Tuesday, October 1, we’ll be at the Rusty Goat
https://www.rustygoattacoma.com/ • 7pm-7:45pm, as part of the Creative
Colloquy Crawl https://www.creativecolloquy.com/creative-colloquy-crawl!
Come listen to some of the poets from the anthology, including  Michael
Haeflinger, Allen Braden, Christina Vega, Robert Lashley, and others!

Month at Kaleidoscope https://tacomaartsmonth.org/opening-party/! Come
check out the event which includes the AMOCAT award presentation and a
selection of artists. At the STAR Center • 6:30pm-9pm
