If you go to the NOAA web site to download the free charts, once you
have a set that suits you the trick in keeping them up to date is to
choose "Sort by: Edition Date". This will list the most recent
released charts. For instance, there are 3 recent charts dated Nov.
1, 2005, the rest are all October 1 or earlier. If you had not
downloaded these 3 charts you could select them and place your
download order. Once a month sometime after the first, you could do
the same sort and check for new editions and download whatever has
been just released. At the moment I am only interested in the west
coast, so until one or more of these charts are released, I will just
keep checking. In this manner you can incrementally keep your charts
up to date, absolutely.
