Dear Colleagues,

Now that we have a fabulous new website, we are looking for a Web Editor who would like to take on the responsibility to review its architecture on a yearly basis, to assess its content and navigation on at least a quarterly basis, and to update and revise the content as required. As a new position just added to our Society bylaws, the Web Editor has the responsibility (and latitude, with the consultation of the Board) to create guidelines about how members can submit requests to revise the website and suggest potential development of its resources.  The SSYCDS Web Editor is a three-year, renewable, position. We see this as an opportunity not only to serve the Society and the field of Middle Period China Studies as whole, but also to gain valuable Digital Humanities experience and credentials.

Interested parties should send a cv and a short letter (1-2 paragraphs) discussing any past experience with web and/or database design, including css and html, to the SSYCDS Board via Tracy Miller (tracy.g.miller@vanderbilt.edu). Although membership is not required at the time of application, the new Web Editor will be expected to be an active member during the period of appointment. Review of applications will begin on July 22, 2019.

Please feel free to share this announcement with your digitally-inclined Middle Period colleagues.

With best wishes,
Tracy

PS—I previously sent this to the Membership list only, my apologies for any crossposting.
