Re: [Pmlsolicitors] Pmlsolicitors Digest, Vol 50, Issue 21

Hello All,

I am wondering if anyone knows whether any legislation is being considered to extend the discount or face value periods on municipal tax bills.  Since  these 60 day periods are statutory, they could only be amended by legislative action I assume.  Our county commissioners are presently seeking agreement among the municipalities to a thirty day extension of the discount period.  If all of the townships and boroughs are not in agreement, the tax collectors face some sort of split billing nightmare.  Of course, there is also the question of the authority for even doing so, but at least everyone would be in the same boat.  Legislation would cure those ills.

Thanks,

Joe Bresnan

It appears that the Right-to-Know guidance from the  Office of Open Records was updated this morning.  We would be interested if you are dealing successfully with RTKL and Sunshine Act issues, and if the guidances, and specifically the updated RTKL guidance are helpful.
