Just some cautionary notes when shopping for wire to ensure that you are
comparing apples to apples. The good news is that you can simply check the
imprinting on the wire insulation or sheathing to ascertain the quality of
wire you are considering.
--Ensure that it is true AWG and not SAE; while both are acceptable, the SAE
wire has approximately 12% less circular mil area; i.e., 12% less copper
conductor.
--Ensure that it is marked with BC5W2 and/or E67078.
--Ensure that it is marked for 600 volt service.
--Ensure that it is rated for 105C dry and 75C wet service
Obviously, someone with tinned SAE #1 wire, with an insulation rated at 75C
dry would be able to sell it cheaper than someone selling the full up good

Went back and checked... the wire I purchase from Jamestown Distributors
meets all these specs.
