She is a female welcoming figure who stands 22 feet tall and wears a traditional woven cedar hat and white dress with a Thunderbird design, her hands outstretched in a welcoming gesture. She was carved by Puyallup native artist Shaun Peterson (Qwalsius). The site, now known as Tollefson Plaza, was an important village site to the Puyallup people. The figure welcomes all who visit and stands in tribute to the Puyallup people who were the first to occupy the city now known as Tacoma.

Supported by City of Tacoma, Puyallup Tribe of Indians, and Tacoma Art Museum.
