Either that or string 35 miles of phase stable cable.
I may actually be bringing along an old show and tell piece. For years
I've had a portable crystal oscillator clock that is really neat, with
digital clock using the dot style LED displays and the ability to slew
the PPS pulse to align it. Weirdly, all the low frequency stuff worked
fine but the 10 MHz, 5 MHz, and 1 MHz outputs were all dead. As a
result it wasn't all that useful.
I finally got around to troubleshooting it this week and discovered that
in each of three separate output amplifiers one 2N3904 of a pair had
blown. Replacing them got everything running again. I may trim it to
frequency and bring it along for the blinkenlights.

I don't know that it matters although the solid-state ones ( wait, aren't incandescents also solid state?) can do much cooler things being faster and more readily made colorful.

Remimder
August 26 is the yearly Measurement Event / Annual Meeting / Picnic for
the Midwest VHF and UHF Society.
As MVUS is providing the food and drinks, we need to have a head account
ahead of time to purchase the correct amount of items. We also need to know
what you have that needs tested, so we can have the right test equipment
there to do the tests. So please drop Tom Holmes N8ZM an email letting him
know if you will be attending (include your xyl and others in your count if
they are also attending) and what you need tested. Please send to Tom
directly and not the list..
The setup at Daun's will start about 10 AM, and the main gathering of
members about start about 11 AM.
Tom's email address is: n8zmTWH@mymetronet.net
There will not be a Friday monthly meeting at MCL this month.
The meeting will be a Duan Yeagley home. The address is:
