Thanks to support from the Club, this week the High School MTB team was able
to purchase a much needed trailer to store our gear in and transport it to
the events! Also thanks to Chris Collins at A-1 Auto (Spirit Station on HWY
50). He gave us a heckuva deal on the trailer. Stop in and tell him thanks
when you are getting gas. The team is not funded through the school so
purchases like this can only come from community support. Now that we have
the list back, I will do my best to keep the club appraised of the HS team
efforts. The league is growing quickly statewide and Salida kids have
competed really well at every skill level. Last year we were able to place
third as a team, behind two Boulder schools, competing against the largest
schools in the state. We have several kids on the team who are not racers,
they just like the camaraderie.
With the help of Absolute bikes and their van, we will be taking 8 kids to
Mesa Verde this weekend to do a 12 hr race. Should be a lot of fun.
On another note, it is great to see the interest in group rides picking up!
Maybe we can get some of the kids to start showing up for those too, drop or
no drop.
Thanks everyone for the support!
Cheers
Brent
This is great, I didn't know the club was supporting the kids MTB team.
Looking forward to your updates. Let let us know if we can do anything to
help.

Yes, it is great we are supporting the High School team. It’s nice to hear back about how our membership money is being used in the community. Is there some form of hierarchy in this group? Board of directors, president, vice president, etc.?
