From Bill Batsford:
09/02/14 - West Haven, Sandy Point -- 11 AM; 2 Wilson's Phalarope far
out on sandbar.

From Frank Mantlik:
09/02/14 - West Haven, Sandy Point -- 12:00 to 3:00 PM; 2 WILSON'S
PHALAROPES, 1 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, 1 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, 1
WESTERN SANDPIPER (juv), 12 RED KNOTS, 3000 Common Terns, 3 FORSTER'S
TERNS, 1 ROSEATE TERN (juv).  All of the rare stuff was on the flats
and water's edge at the very end of the Point proper; walk past the
new butterfly garden, then left out to beach, then north.  I agree
with Gina that this has been my best birding day here ever, except
when the Snowy Plover was here years ago.
Stratford, Sniffens Lane on Housatonic River -- 5:30 PM; two WHIMBREL
just headed east up the coast toward Silver Sands SP and New Haven.

From Nick Bonomo:
09/02/14 - West Haven, Sandy Point -- evening; lots of repeats from
last night and what Frank Mantlik reported earlier today. I believe
the only new thing that several birders and I had there this evening
was a single WHIMBREL.

From Jack Swatt:
09/02/14 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill meadows -- noon; 4 American
Golden-Plovers, 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers, White-rumped Sandpiper.

From Justin and Owen Lawson:
09/02/14 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- Spent an hour or so
530-630 with my 7 year old who is doing his little big year. 4
American Golden-Plover (lifer for Owen), 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers
(Owen lifer),  and 1 White-rumped Sandpiper.

From Tina Green:
09/02/14 - Westport, Compo Beach -- Western Sandpiper.
Sherwood Island State Park -- flock of 50+ Bobolinks flying west over
the model airplane field.

From Frank Mantlik:
09/02/14 - Orange, Racebrook Tract -- 10 species of warblers,
including 1 CAPE MAY, 1 BAY-BREASTED. (Could not find yesterday's YB
Chat.)

From Jim Carr:
09/02/14 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- Baird's Sandpiper still
at Boulder Pond, by main road.

From Dana Campbell:
09/02/14 - East Hartford, Rentschler Field -- 3 molting American
Golden-Plovers on the lawn west of the pond.

From Eileen Becker-Dunn:
09/01/14 - Westbrook -- Sunday, while boating near Duck Island
straight out from the Westbrook shoreline, four Wilson's Storm Petrels
feeding along with terns. Very excited after consulting with Crossley
and Sibley guides last night!
