Hi all! My name is Taylor Hadden and I'm the founder of Ecstatic Dance Tacoma. Ecstatic Dance is a freeform sober dance movement for all ages and abilities. Our goal is to offer a safe creative space where anyone can be and move as they wish. Through the mediums of art, music, and movement we hope to inspire wellness, self expression, and community. I’m seeking support and help to spread the word about Ecstatic Dance Tacoma. I believe this event will have an extremely positive impact on the City of Tacoma. A thriving community stems from thriving community members. As corny as it sounds, Ecstatic Dance saved my life. As someone who has always battled anxiety and depression, Ecstatic Dance provided me with a safe outlet to show up as I am and move through whatever I was dealing with. I would not be here today if not for Ecstatic Dance and its community members. I hope to provide the same type of refuge for someone else who may be struggling with something heavy. When substances are removed from dance, a clearer and deeper connection with ourselves can be accessed. When paired with intention, movement can help us break through dense emotions and stagnant energy. Dancing in a consensual, accepting, and creative space opens a gateway for healing and transformation. Plus, it’s a ton of fun! Ecstatic Dance Tacoma starts Feb 5th, 8-10p, at Alma Mater Tacoma. It will take place every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month. It will feature intrinsically unique DJ sets, cozy tea lounge, local artwork, craft mocktails, massage, area for meditation/yoga, and social lounge. This is a one of kind, total immersive experience.
