The chain rattles. Specifically, just aft of the anchor locker is a 50
gallon water tank. The rattle of chain reverberating through the tank seems
to magnify the sound.
I can put a hose into the chain locker and the rinse water does go under the
water tank and thru the bilge into that forward compartment with the bilge
pump.
Of course access is miserable to the chain locker (a 10" square panel on the
forward bulkhead of the stateroom) -- any ideas on abating the rattle?
J (and Frank) ashore for the doctor visits routine. Ugh.
You can take out all of the chain and put the plastic tiles that
clamp together down there, and then that should stop most of the noise.
You could try blowing up a beach ball, old car inner tube or
something akin to that and stuffing it on top of the chain.
Or, if the area is fiberglass, some old fluffy towels for the chain
to rest on might also work...
