Find the info on defender's price for a cellular antenna interesting. I have
recently gotten a new 'map' put out by Verizon showing the increased
coverage for the area I'm interested in: the Tenn-Tom and Mobile Bay area as
well as the Tenn. R. Does anyone have experience here now that the coverage
has increased? It was almost non-existent when we went up the Tenn-Tom last
summer! We'd get to a major highway bridge, slow down while I ran below to
make as many calls as I could, at the same time turning on the Verizon
wireless on the computer.
Can someone tell me more about the separation of antennae? I have a location
on my short (17') mast for another antenna, but is that too close to the VHF
antenna which is also there? I am going to be hard pressed to find another
place to install one! Unless it's got a magnetic base (steel boat!) What
kind of separation are you talking about? If the coverage has improved as
much as Verizon advertises, I may not need the antenna?!?
This Sunday, to all who are interested...I finally get to move to Alabama! I
actually move into the new house on Mar 2! Keep my cell phone # if you plan
to be in the area (Fairhope/Montrose on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay..
EAstern Shore Marine is there...) You'll fall in love with the area as I
did! (I have not heard back from the person who contacted me about it and I
lost...)
