Established in 1891, DSU is one of the most diverse, contemporary Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the United States with a central, 400-acre campus in Dover, Delaware, and satellite campuses in New Castle and Sussex Counties. With a cumulative enrollment of approximately 5000, our university boasts a 15:1 student to faculty ratio providing our students with an academic experience that is both individually and intimately catered to their strengths, while also investing in a growing research portfolio, extensive international partnerships, and seamlessly integrated digital instruction.
Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and multiple disciplinary- specific accrediting organizations including AACSB, CAEP, and ACEN, we offer a wide variety of academic tracks for student candidates of all academic disciplines including approximately 40 undergraduate programs, 15 master's degree programs, and five doctoral degree programs. Our faculty consists of over 200 members who serve passionately across 18 academic departments in five academic colleges and the Office of Student Success. Ninety percent of the faculty hold Ph.D.'s or corresponding terminal degrees in their field of research and study.
