Ghost, witches and spiders seen in Vuecrest!
It's come to our attention that many scary, ghost like characters, invisible witches and large spiders have taken up residency in the trees on the Vuecrest esplanades and entrance walls.
We've been assured they will only be around till October 31st Halloween and then disappear till next year.
Happy Halloween!

No Street Parking in Vuecrest over 24hrs
Let's get those vehicles off the street and into our garages and driveways!

The City of Bellevue does not allow vehicles to be parked on our streets longer than 24 hours (Bellevue Municipal Code 11.23.020) and parking over 24 hours is prohibited.  Except for authorized time limit zones (BCC 11.23.022), no person may park or re-park a vehicle on either side of a public street within the same block for a period exceeding 24 consecutive hours. A vehicle shall be deemed to be parked in violation of this section unless the vehicle is moved to a different block every 24 hours. For purposes of this section, a block is defined as the stretch of roadway between the two closest public street intersections on either end of the stretch. For cases where a roadway ends, a block is defined as the stretch of roadway between the end of the roadway and the closest public street intersection. (Ord. 6686 § 1, 2022; Ord. 6383 § 1, 2017; Ord. 4611 § 6, 1993.)
Vuecrest residents can easily report vehicles parked more than 24hrs. via the City of Bellevue APP.  Download to your mobile phone from the APP Store.

Trash/Recycle/Yard waste tote etiquette
Here's a few reminders regarding trash/recycle/yard waste tote etiquette in the Vuecrest community;

  • Totes should be put out the day before collection and then pulled back in the day after collection
  • Totes should be stored on your property in a place not visible from the street
  • Place totes at or nearest the end of your driveway for collection only
  • Secure all bin lids in the down position, especially the garbage bin to ensure lids are down and garbage is contained and helps keep birds and other critters from making a mess before collection
  • Ask a neighbor to put your totes out or bring them in if you are planning to be out of town
  • Never leave totes out on the street for an extended period of time
  • Promptly clean-up any trash or other debris that may have occurred near your property during collection day

Safety Matters, Mike Wittman, Vuecrest Safety Committee Chair
Welcome to Fall!  We still have the radar trailers in the neighborhood, but they soon will be removed as there is a waiting list in other neighborhoods for them.  We requested final deployment of them on Hilltop due to speeding delivery vans, but we were told no-go on that.  The trailers have been in the neighborhood since early August, so we've been fortunate to have them as long as we have.  Next steps will be to retrieve speed data from them (though the officer in charge was not entirely clear that the trailers had memory cards during their full deployment).  We hope that there has been a notable calming of speeds during the time the trailers have been visible to traffic, and that folks will continue to drive prudently.
We'd like to remind parents to discuss safe riding practices with their children riding electric bikes in the neighborhood.  They do go fast and can be startling to pedestrians who are sharing the same part of the street.  Children are not always as cautious as we'd like to see, so please have a conversation with them about safe riding practices.  If you have children who ride e-bikes, please review the following article:  Washington E-Bike Laws: Your Complete Guide - Velotric (velotricbike.com)https://www.velotricbike.com/blogs/story-landing/washington-ebike-laws
Since October is Halloween month, we'd like to remind you to keep your trick-or-treaters safe, including adult escorts, highly visible costumes, lights and glow-sticks.  And please be considerate of the little ones if you are out driving that evening.
As always, if you have any Safety Related issues to bring to our attention, please do so by sending a message to safety@vuecrest.netmailto:safety@vuecrest.net  Be safe out there!
